Dear parents,
Today it started out cloudy but when it lifted we could see that there was a layer of fresh new snow. After a couple free runs by ourselves we got together to slip and inspect the course. The first course was a short stubby course, and we had to ski it without poles. After break we skied on a regular course, but the snow was pretty soft and in a short time the ruts got big and it was hard. Over all today was hard work but we had fun.
Sincerely,
Polly
Dear Parents,
Recently we went on a trip to Interlacken, Switzerland (Interlacken means the "city between two lakes"). This trip was a change of pace and a break that all of us enjoyed. To reach the town of Interlacken, we had to use differnt modes of transportation. For the first part of the journey we used a car. Then in the car we went onto a train which went through a long tunnel underneath the Swiss Alps. Afterward all of the racers got on a boat and headed over to Interlacken. This was very enjoyable and took about an hour. To past the time in Interlacken, we either strolled around town or played intense games of ping-pong.
On our way back from our short break, one of our coaches Lilian, arranged for us to take a tour of a helicopter pad. It was very interesting to see how everything worked and how it was manage. Instead of taking the train back we took a pass through the Swiss Alps. The drive was very scenic and also very long. Interlacken was a very exciting place that all of us enjoyed, and hope to expierence again.
Sincerely,
Zach Aziz

Dear Parents,
Today started out like our regular skiing days, we woke up at 6:30, ate breakfast and left for the mountain at 7. The snow was great, hard enough so that ruts weren't too bad and the snow was very fast. We set two slalom courses on one of the lower lanes next to the lower t-bar. We skied the courses from 8:30 to 10. Our coaches were videoing us but we were in the middle of a cloud which made things difficult. At some points during the day we could only see two gates infront of us. We took our water and snack break at 10 and set a new slalom course that was the full length of the trail. Clouds were still a problem in the afternoon and made videoing difficult. We skied this course until 11:30 and then headed back to the hotel for lunch. We then had our one hour nap-time which was much appreciated. In the time between nap-time and dryland I had to search for a ski shop to fix my boot buckle which I bent on a gate near the end of the morning. Our dryland training for today was a hike. Overall I think today was good for everybody.
