Polly's academic acheivements this year are outstanding. Polly made the first quarter Honor Roll and received four excellent efforts grades from her teachers.

Holderness describes the effort grades as follows "Effort Grades are awarded to students independent of their average. These indicators are related to motivation and the time and energy a student puts into a course, be it inside or outside of the classroom."

Here is what one of Polly's teachers said about Polly in her comments.

Polly was a dynamo. Her enthusiasm was contagious, sparked the curiosity of everyone around her and yet you could always tell she worked hard for the pure passion of her ideas and not for a grade or to be praised by others. She always made me smile when I came into the studio and I would see her covered in charcoal and a big grin on her face. She truly made each day that I taught her a joy to be a teacher. Polly will receive an A+ and an excellent effort.

Polly received High Honors for the second quarter with three excellent efforts. I'll mention here that Polly has taken a challenging course load for a Sophomore. She took the Junior Year math course over the summer and is taking the Senior level precalculus this year. She is taking two Junior level courses this year, Honors Chemistry and Spanish 3. Her schedule also included Human Developement, Drawing 1, and English.

Polly has missed 21 days of school with 29 days of racing in the third quarter, January 3rd through March 4th. She managed to keep up with her school work while she was racing and traveling and received Honors for the third quarter.

We are incredibly proud of Polly for all her hard work.
