2005 Lacrosse

The 2005 Holderness Lacrosse Team had a great year, they finished with a record of 10-4-1.

Polly had a bad time with shin splints this year, she had to sit out 3 games and the trainer would not allow her to run during practices. The coaches and trainer determined that if she waited for the shin splints to heal she would miss the rest of the season so she played 2nd home for a couple of games then they moved her back to center forward. The trainer says if she does not run for two weeks she should be OK.

This picture of Polly's team was taken after the Brewster Game at the home of a teammate. Polly is second from the right in the blue jacket.

Holderness does a great job writing up the games:

..the JV Girls remained committed and forceful in gaining momentum and maintaining a dominating offense led by Polly Evans, Polly Babcock and Hannah O'Brien

..resulted in numerous shots on goal and many individuals scoring, Captain Jess Saba with 1 goal and 1 assist; Eliza Cooley with 2; Polly Evans with 1 goal and 2 assists; Hannah O'Brien with 2, Captain Lauren Wright with 1; and Anna Hosmer with her first goal of the season

When the dust settled, Attackers Polly Evans, Jesse Saba and Anna Hosmer each had earned three goals, while Defense Wing Hannah O'Brien rallied with her own 3 goals. Polly Babcock made her mark by adding a goal to the final tally, along with earning an assist.

..Margot Cutter and Abby Kendall who scored their first goals of the season, Polly Evans with 3 driving scores in the cage and Hannah O'Brien who tallied 4 more goals for the team

And I found a picture on the Holderness Website of Polly on the field. Polly is number 11.
